Testimonials

I am always delighted to be invited into NHESC to speak with their young students. It is truly worthwhile and rewarding when they are engaged in topics which can cause negative impact in their young lives. Similarly impressive is the positive attitude, care, expertise and commitment by the staff who work with their students.

The students clearly enjoy their time at NHESC.

I would just like to thank you and your team personally, for everything you do to support Fearnhill and of course our students.

Having Ofsted in is just a reminder of how great you all are.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you, for all your efforts with my son and with us. You & your staff have been amazing. I wish my son had joined you in Year 7! Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart. You all showed my son respect, kindness & much less judgement than he’d got used to

Lovely to see our Hitchin boys schools student pick up many awards and be so successful. Great also to hear their future plans and we look forward to welcoming one student back to Sixth form in September.

I think the centre has been brilliant for my Daughter. She has come on a long long way since she started there. All the staff are lovely and supportive towards all the students. I am very proud of the centre and my Daughter is sad to be leaving. I also think the staff should be getting certificates today and I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all the staff, you’re all brilliant.

Parent/Carer of Student

Thank you all for all the support the staff at the centre have given to my daughter. She has grown so much in confidence and would highly recommend the school to everyone.

Parent/Carer of Student

I was very against my son coming to the school, how wrong was I. I really thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the work you have put in with my son. He is a changed boy and on the road to new ventures. I believe this wouldn’t have happened without the support he got at this amazing school. You are all amazing.

Executive Head’s Welcome

We are a Centre designed to work with young people, schools, families and other associated professionals.

A Key Stage 3 Centre based in Briar Patch Lane, Letchworth and Key Stage 4 Centre based in Bancroft, Hitchin providing education for young people in KS3 and KS4 who are permanently excluded or at risk of permanent exclusion from their school in North Hertfordshire area.

Our aim is to assist the young people in returning to a permanent full time education placement whether it be a school or elsewhere. We will then assist in supporting their re-integration. In addition to the on-site provision above we also provide, when space allows, opportunities for full time Respite places for half term blocks.

Our Outreach Service work with Primary and Secondary schools in the North Herts area to assist in preventing permanent exclusions and reducing the numbers of pupils at risk.

Added to this our aim is to support our local schools in the development of their staff through Behaviour Support Network Groups and in providing training opportunities/experience allowing staff to build up knowledge and experience.

Visitors, whether parents or associated professionals, are always welcome.

Dan Nearney, Executive Head
